Herfstkermis Lokeren 2026 is getting a new family highlight: on Monday, 2 November 2026, the city is organising a major ball toss at the market for the first time. Children aged three to twelve can win vouchers, funfair tokens and other prizes. The city announced the event in its press overview on 19 October. If you’re planning to visit the autumn funfair with children, make a note of the date.
The Mega Ball Toss starts at 2 on Monday, 18:00 November. The meeting point is the steps of the old town hall at Marktplein in Lokeren. According to the official event announcement, a dedicated area will be set aside there for the toss and collecting the balls. The programme is expected to run until 19:00. The ball toss is an extra event alongside the ongoing autumn funfair, not a ride.
For children, it’s about more than just the activity itself. The city lists discount coupons, tokens and even admission tickets or tickets for a free funfair day as possible prizes. There is no guarantee which prizes individual participants will receive. So it’s best to treat the event as a shared experience rather than expecting a particular prize.
Children aged three to twelve can take part. Please note: registration is required and starts at the venue at 17:30. The city divides the children into three groups: ages three to five, six to eight, and nine to twelve. This means younger and older participants can take part separately.
If you’re travelling with your family, allow some extra time before the start. It’s best to arrive at the old town hall in good time so you don’t have to register at the last minute. The official event page does not mention any other requirements or a guaranteed number of participants. For definitive information, contact the organiser directly.
The autumn funfair runs from 31 October to 8 November 2026 at the market in Lokeren. This coincides with the Belgian autumn school holidays. Visit Lokeren says the funfair opens at around 15 every day. No exact closing times are given. By contrast, the Mega Ball Toss on Monday is specifically scheduled for 18.
The location right in the city centre is also handy if you want to combine your funfair visit with a stroll around town. However, the city announced paving work at the market in October. Check the current signs and possible diversions when travelling there.
The City of Lokeren’s press overview lists the announcement dated 19 October 2026. All details about the time, meeting point and registration are in the official entry for the Mega Ball Toss. Our event page for Herfstkermis Lokeren brings together the information you need for your visit. You can find more autumn funfairs in the funfair calendar.
