Aurich Autumn Market 2026: City warns against illegal parking

Aurich Autumn Market 2026: If you are visiting the funfair at Karl-Heinrich-Ulrichs-Platz, pay particular attention to the parking rules. On 27 October, the City of Aurich published an official notice about traffic conditions at the event site. It specifically asks visitors to use public car parks in the city and to observe the absolute no-stopping restrictions on surrounding streets. The notice applies throughout the event, from 30 October to 8 November 2026. It is therefore worth choosing a suitable car park before setting off.

Why the no-stopping restrictions matter

The city expects many visitors during the autumn market and correspondingly heavy traffic. In previous years, cars were parked on streets near the event site despite existing restrictions, making it difficult for vehicles to pass in both directions. This is particularly problematic for ambulances and fire engines. In an emergency, these vehicles must be able to get through even when there is a lot of activity around the fair. For this reason, absolute no-stopping restrictions remain in force on surrounding streets. The city has made clear that it wants to keep emergency routes clear.

Aurich Autumn Market 2026: How to plan your journey

The site is at Karl-Heinrich-Ulrichs-Platz, next to the Sparkassen-Arena, in the area of the Old Railway Station. If you are travelling by car, use the designated public parking facilities in the city. It is better not to look for a space right next to the market. The city also specifically asks visitors not to park on private property. A map of public parking facilities is linked in the city notice dated 27 October. Check it before setting off and follow the signs on site.

What to expect at the autumn market

The fair runs from Friday, 30 October, to Sunday, 8 November. According to the official organiser information, there are rides and stalls selling food, drinks and other goods. Tourist event listings state that the market is open from 14 to 22 on Mondays to Fridays. On Saturdays and Sundays, the hours are 13 to 22. Entry to the site is free; rides and purchases cost extra. You can find more information about the event and opening hours on our Aurich Autumn Market 2026 event page.

Consideration helps all visitors

On busy days in particular, finding a parking space can take longer. So allow some extra time and use the official parking facilities. Keeping the streets around the arena clear helps local residents. Emergency services benefit most of all. The city's notice is not a cancellation or a change to the event dates, but a specific safety advisory for your visit. Check for current traffic updates when travelling to the event and keep access routes clear at all times.
