Here, you don't drive through a car wash – you walk through it yourself: Car Wash turns wobbly obstacles and surprising effects into a family adventure.
The Car Wash by Horlbeck experience
You largely set your own pace. Wobbling floors, moving features and car-wash-style effects mean you have to keep your balance. Some sections are easy to get through, while others take a little skill. There's no fixed ride time, so you can stop and have a laugh with your friends.
Depending on the setup, water effects may also be used. Whether you get splashed depends on the particular operation.

Car Wash by Horlbeck: the story of a shape-shifter
The attraction was built in 1993 and has undergone several transformations since then. It first travelled as a haunted attraction, later as a ghost ship and, until 2020, as Spaßmobil. It was then given its current, much more colourful design as Car Wash. The operators also changed: until 2012, the attraction belonged to Witte from Hamburg, and then to Steinecker from Schwanewede until 2017. Today it travels with Julian Horlbeck from Neumünster.
With a frontage of around 18 metres and a depth of eight metres, Car Wash also fits on smaller fairgrounds. It is scheduled for Hamburg's Winterdom 2026. You can find more walk-through attractions in our attractions overview and current dates in the funfair calendar.

Who is the ride suitable for?
Car Wash is a typical family attraction. Children have just as much fun here as adults who enjoy a little challenge. If you're visiting with young children, you'll find the rules on supervision right at the entrance. Comfortable shoes are a good idea, as some sections require sure footing. The walk-through attraction is also a nice change between two rides, since you're moving around yourself. The colourful façade is the best spot for photos.
