XXL Dotremont is a travelling giant pendulum operated by Belgian showman Jacky Dotremont. The ride was made by Dutch manufacturer KMG and belongs to the XXL series, the manufacturer’s largest Frisbee model. According to the series specifications, the gondola swings to a height of around 45 metres. Since 2010, XXL has been one of the most spectacular thrill rides at Belgian funfairs.

What it’s like to ride XXL Dotremont
You sit in a round gondola at the end of a huge pendulum arm. At first, the arm swings gently from side to side. Then it gains momentum with each swing, until you are hanging almost horizontally, high above the fairground. At the same time, the gondola rotates around its own axis. The result is a rapid succession of climbs, moments suspended in mid-air and thrilling descents.
You feel butterflies in your stomach especially at the highest point, before plunging back down. You also get a spectacular view of the whole funfair from up there.

The history of XXL Dotremont
KMG delivered the ride in 2010 with the serial number KMG-2010-XXL-20-159-03. It was therefore one of the first travelling XXL rides. It made its debut in 2010 at the Sinksenfoor in Antwerp. Since then, it has appeared at many major Belgian funfairs, including in Antwerp, Hasselt and Liège. The giant pendulum has now been travelling for more than 15 years.
