Freak Zinnecker: Ride experience

On Freak, you sit in a gondola at the end of a large propeller arm. As soon as the ride begins, your position in space changes dramatically: the arm not only swings, but also rotates fully. Its highest points are far above the fairground. The gondolas and the arm’s rotation create an intense sense of motion. If you are unfamiliar with how it works, you should watch at least one complete cycle from below. Unlike on a roller coaster, you cannot tell the direction of travel from a track. That is precisely what makes it exciting for experienced thrill-seekers.

Who is Freak Zinnecker suitable for?

Freak is not a ride for beginners. It is particularly suitable if you are looking for intense rotations and a view from a great height. If you are unsure about going upside down, it is better to start with a less intense ride. Check the minimum height, health restrictions and restraint system on site, as this information must come directly from the operator. An off-ride video clearly identified as Freak by Zinnecker from the Darmstadt Heinerfest 2025 shows how the ride works from the outside. It does not document the ride’s setup or actual participation at another fair.
