Die Geister-Villa is a ride with its own history and a clearly recognisable design. In this classic ghost train, the route takes you through dark scenery on two levels. Sounds, figures and lighting effects create the spooky atmosphere. Since the next scenes remain hidden, the suspense is greatest as you move from one section to the next. The appeal lies particularly in the combination of the exterior design and the ride’s movement. Even from the fairground, you can see how this attraction differs from the others.

Special features and construction

Barbisan built the ride in 1997. Documented dimensions of up to 26 metres wide at the front, ten metres deep and twelve metres high are available. It was formerly known as Burg Dracula. After being operated in France and Germany, it changed hands to Molengraft-Sipkema at the end of 2012.

The design determines not only the ride experience, but also the effort involved in transporting and setting it up at different event venues. That is why attractions like these are an important part of travelling showman culture.

Die Geister-Villa: the ride experience and how it works

On this classic ghost train, the route takes you through dark scenery on two levels. Sounds, figures and lighting effects create the spooky atmosphere. Because you cannot see the upcoming scenes, the suspense builds especially as you move from one section to the next.

Watching a full ride helps you assess its movement. The lighting and the view across the fairground also shape the impression: after dark, many classic fairground rides look quite different from how they do in the afternoon.
