The ride experience at Diablos Residenz
The cars take you through a dark-themed world on three levels. Animated figures, sounds and special effects build suspense, while live actors add to the scenes. A Diablo figure about eight metres tall draws the eye outside the façade. The experience begins even before you get on.
During the ride, you move from one scene to the next. Darkness and unexpected encounters are part of the experience. You sit in a car and explore the rooms along the track. If you enjoy looking at spooky sets, you should still expect sudden effects. Whether and when live scare actors appear may depend on the particular fair.

Technology and construction
Diablos Residenz was built by Bertazzon in Italy in 2025. Ride-Index records a frontage length of 33 metres, a depth of 13 metres and a total height of 15 metres. The three floors are part of the ride; the building height is not a stated drop height. This source does not specify a reliable power requirement or the exact current number of cars.
The façade, with its balustrades, figures and gargoyles, forms the visible frame of the ghost train. Inside, sets, moving figures and sound design shape the ride. This combination also makes the attraction interesting to visitors who enjoy the design of themed rides.
Premiere and history
The premiere, originally planned for Crange 2025, was delayed because construction was not complete. The city therefore confirmed a replacement for the original site in July 2025. According to Ride-Index, Diablos Residenz actually premiered at Hamburg Winterdom on 28 November 2025.
Joseph Hoefnagels is officially listed for Cranger Kirmes 2026. This means the year of construction, the actual first appearance and the later appearance in Herne should be distinguished.
Timeline
Planned appearance at Crange 2025 cancelled due to construction delays. Actual premiere on 28 November 2025 at Hamburg Winterdom. 2026 new at Cranger Kirmes.
