Highlights & records
Swing Tower M40, 40 metres tall; operator changed from Piontek to Rodel after the 2025 season.
The classic swing ride experience at a great height: Hexenflieger combines open views with an exhilarating flight around the fairground.
What it’s like to ride Rodel's Hexenflieger
You take a seat in one of the freely suspended seats; a total of 24 people ride each round. The seat carousel then rises up the tower and starts to spin. Centrifugal force swings the seats outwards, making you seem to float above the heads of the other visitors. Hexenflieger does not rely on loops or sudden drops, but on height, momentum and views. In the evening, you can also enjoy views of the illuminated rides nearby.

Rodel's Hexenflieger: history and technology
The ride was built in 2025 as the Swing Tower M40 by AK Rides. It made its debut on 31 July 2025 at the Borken-Gemen marksmen's festival, when it was still operated by showman Piontek from Badbergen. After the 2025 season, H & C Rodel from Frauenfeld bought the tower. Hexenflieger has therefore been travelling around Switzerland since 2026; in autumn 2026, for example, it appeared at Rosentalanlage at the Basler Herbstmesse. It requires an area of around 15 by 12 metres and a power supply of 30 kilowatts.

Who is the swing ride suitable for?
Hexenflieger is a lovely ride for families with older children and anyone who enjoys heights but does not need to go upside down. You can find the minimum-height and accompaniment rules at the ticket booth. On a clear day, it is worth riding during daylight; in the evening, the setting is especially atmospheric. For a photo, stand a little way back from the tower so that the swinging seats fit in the shot.
