Nordic Tower – Nülken
80-metre-high Funtime-Starflyer with 16 double seats
Operator: Peer Nülken / Schaustellerbetrieb Nülken (Hamburg) · since 2024
The Nordic Tower by Nülken is one of the modern high swing rides that shape the skyline of a fair from afar. At around 80 metres tall, the tower rises above almost all the other rides. The combination of freely suspended double seats, great height and circular movement around the top of the tower is particularly impressive.

Highlights & records
A high swing ride around 80 metres tall with 16 double seats; made its debut at Leineweber-Markt in Bielefeld on 29.05.2024.
Soar high, suspended freely from the chains, with sweeping views over the fairground: Nordic Tower brings the classic swing ride experience to a height of around 80 metres.
What it’s like to ride Nülken’s Nordic Tower
You take a seat in one of the 16 double seats and are lifted up the tower. As the seat carousel starts to turn, the chains carry the seats outwards. This creates the feeling of flying freely above the fairground, while the lights of the funfair sparkle below you. Unlike a roller coaster, it’s not about speed, but height, views and a steady circular motion.

Nülken’s Nordic Tower: history and technology
The operator is Hamburg showman Peer Nülken. The tower was built by Austrian manufacturer Funtime in 2024. It made its debut on 29 May 2024 at Leineweber-Markt in Bielefeld. Nordic Tower replaced the smaller high swing ride Sky Dance, which the business had sold at the end of 2023.
The ride has 32 seats on a base measuring around 21 by 23 metres, and its connected load is 300 kilowatts. Nordic Tower is scheduled to appear at the Hamburg Winterdom 2026. You can find other towers in our overview of attractions, and current dates in the funfair calendar.
Timeline
First owned by the Nülken family. Debuted on 29.05.2024 at Leineweber-Markt in Bielefeld. Sky Dance, previously operated by the business, was a different, lower ride and was sold at the end of 2023.

Who is the Starflyer suitable for?
Nordic Tower is ideal for anyone who enjoys heights and is looking for a panoramic ride with a thrill. If you are sensitive to heights, the open view downwards may feel more intense than the actual spinning. The current rules on minimum height and accompanying adults are posted at the entrance. For photos, stand back a little so you can capture the entire structure. The ride may also stop temporarily in strong winds.
