Minicars – V.O.F. Drenth-van den Berg

Small cars for the youngest funfair drivers

Operator: V.O.F. Drenth-van den Berg

The Minicars by V.O.F. Drenth-van den Berg are among the children's attractions at Dutch funfairs. Small cars and the feeling of sitting behind the wheel yourself are at the heart of the experience. Unlike the big bumper cars, this attraction is aimed at young visitors, with the appeal coming from driving on a miniature scale.

The Minicars by Drenth-van den Berg turn a short drive into a big moment for young funfair visitors.

Minicars: a little trip on four wheels

That's why having their own car at the funfair is something special for children. The low viewpoint, the seat behind the steering wheel and the movement across a designated driving area make it a little driving adventure. The Minicars by Drenth-van den Berg are all about this experience: the fun comes not from heights or loops, but from enjoying a ride in a children's car.

This makes the Minicars quite different from a traditional horse carousel. Instead of sitting on an animal figure, the young passengers step into a familiar everyday role. Many children know cars from the road or from toy models. At the funfair, this idea becomes bigger and more tangible. For parents, the moment their child takes a seat in the vehicle is often one of the memories of a funfair visit together.

The Minicars are also not a scaled-down thrill ride. The experience is tailored to the theme of driving, making it a calmer alternative to the big rides. You can easily watch the rides from the outside, so accompanying adults can share in the fun.

Drenth Minicars at Dutch fairgrounds

The name Drenth has been associated with Mini Cars at Dutch funfairs for years. The ride line-up for Zomerkermis Etten-Leur 2019 already lists D.B.A. Drenth with Mini Cars. In April 2025, the local newspaper Weekblad voor Ouder-Amstel reported on D. Drenth's children's cars at the funfair in Ouderkerk. The later operator name V.O.F. Drenth-van den Berg also appears in funfair line-ups.

There are many Minicars attractions run by other showmen. This profile specifically covers the attraction operated by Drenth and not the Mini-Cars by Swinkels, Dauphin or other operators. You can find more children's attractions in our attraction overview.

Which children is the ride suitable for?

If your child loves cars and is fascinated by small vehicles, this attraction is an obvious stop at the fairground. It is especially appealing to young funfair visitors who are not ready for the big round rides yet. A ride can be a good introduction to the funfair, before a bigger carousel might appeal later on.

You should also check the showman's staff instructions before getting on. The specific rules on age, height and whether a child may need to be accompanied apply at each attraction. It is also important that your child wants to enjoy the ride. Some children prefer to watch at first before getting into one of the little cars.
