Live Adventure – Strothenke
Film adventure in a moving cabin
Operator: Wilbert Strothenke (Fürstenau) · since 2015
Live Adventure Strothenke is a travelling motion simulator that combines the cinema experience with movements you can feel. Instead of sitting on a traditional open-air carousel, you sit here in an enclosed cabin. A film sets the direction while the passenger cabin moves in time with the action. This interplay between images and physical feedback is what makes the attraction so special. The simulator belongs to the Strothenke showman family from Fürstenau and can be experienced at different fairgrounds.

Live Adventure combines the illusion of a film ride with real cabin movement – an unusual classic among travelling simulators.
Your Live Adventure Strothenke experience
Getting on is different from boarding a roller coaster or round ride: the actual attraction is behind the façade. You take a seat and look at the screen before the simulation programme begins. When the virtual route turns, drops or accelerates, the cabin adds corresponding movements. This makes the ride on screen feel more immediate than watching the same film on an ordinary screen.
The experience comes from the interplay of projection, movement and your willingness to immerse yourself in the illusion. You do not travel along a real roller coaster track. Even so, changes of direction and the moving cabin can feel surprisingly intense. If you are sensitive to movement or visual simulations, you should bear this in mind before riding. Part of the fun is that several guests can experience the virtual adventure at the same time and compare their impressions afterwards.

History of Live Adventure Strothenke
Behind its current appearance is a ride with a long history on the fairground circuit. The simulator was built by Reppel in 1996 and was initially known as Adventure Live. After its time with Hentrich, it moved to Enders and then to Patrick Sterzenbach. Since 2015, the ride has been part of the Strothenke operating group. The former name remained in use for a while; only later did the current name, Live Adventure, become established.
This history is a good example of how travelling attractions can get a second life through changes of operator and a new look. The basic idea remains the same: what makes the simulator special is not its visible height or speed, but the illusion of a ride that does not actually take place outside the cabin. If you would like to discover more unusual attractions, you can find them in our overview of attractions.

Who is the simulator suitable for?
Live Adventure is aimed above all at visitors who would like to try something different between the big rides. If you enjoy films, virtual adventures and technical illusions, the simulator offers an interesting change of pace. You do not have to steer or understand how a game works: you experience the story from your seat. This also makes a visit appealing for groups looking for a short, unusual experience to share.
Unlike an open high-rise ride, you cannot see your surroundings during the simulation. The focus is entirely on the film and the movements. Especially in changeable fairground weather, this offers a different experience from a ride in the open air. For specific age and height requirements and details of the programme shown, it is best to ask at the ride.
