Tienen – Carnavalkermis 2027

Carnavalkermis Tienen 2027: Under the current municipal date rule, the carnival funfair in the Belgian city of Tienen is scheduled to take place from Saturday, 6 February to Sunday, 14 February 2027. The nine days are set out in the official funfair regulations. A separate announcement for the 2027 edition has not yet been published, so these dates are provisional. Check with the city before your visit.

Carnavalkermis Tienen 2027: dates based on the city regulations

The municipal regulations set nine funfair days. They begin on the Saturday before Ash Wednesday and end on the Sunday of the following week. In 2027, Ash Wednesday falls on 10 February. This gives the dates 6 to 14 February. The city reserves the right to set the exact event dates through the responsible administration. The period therefore follows the official rule. The city has not yet separately confirmed the 2027 edition.

Grote Markt and Kalkmarkt: the two event areas

For the funfair, the city names Grote Markt and Kalkmarkt in the centre of Tienen. So rather than visiting a remote fairground, you will find the funfair area right in the city. The regulations also provide for special pitch areas, intended for new or special attractions. It has not yet been announced whether or which of these areas will actually be occupied in 2027. A binding list of showmen and rides cannot be inferred from the general pitch rules.

What is still to be confirmed for Carnavalkermis Tienen 2027

Daily opening hours and ride prices for 2027 have not yet been announced. The line-up of rides and programme are also unconfirmed. Details from the previous year should not be presented as new dates. That is why we do not list any made-up family days, supposed confirmed performances, discounts or specific rides. There is also no sufficiently up-to-date official confirmation of the admission arrangements. These details can be added once the city publishes its event information.

Tips for planning your visit to Tienen

Grote Markt in the city centre is a useful reference point; under the regulations, Kalkmarkt is also part of the funfair. Check the latest information about parking areas and market relocations before travelling. Possible road closures may also be important. Other events may take place in the city centre during carnival season. Their times are not automatically the opening hours of the rides. Find more fairs in our funfair calendar.

Official information, not assumptions based on previous years

The authoritative source is the official funfair regulations of the City of Tienen. They set out the annual date rule, the event areas and municipal responsibilities. The city also listed Carnavalkermis in its 2026 calendar. However, that past edition does not confirm any programme details for 2027. The city has not yet published information about the new edition. Alternatively, the events office can confirm the details.
