Speyer – Speyer Pretzel Festival 2027

The Speyerer Brezelfest 2027 will take place from Thursday, 8 July, to Tuesday, 13 July 2027. The Speyer Tourist Association has confirmed the date and describes the upcoming edition as the 88 Brezelfest. At the festival site on Klipfelsau, you can look forward to the largest fair on the Upper Rhine, with rides, food and drink, beer gardens and plenty of tradition. The traditional parade and the closing fireworks are particularly well known. However, the full programme for 2027 has yet to be published.

Speyerer Brezelfest 2027: six days on Klipfelsau

Brezelfest is held every year from Thursday to Tuesday on the second weekend in July. It is organised by the Speyer Tourist Association and has been part of the cathedral city's festival calendar since 1910. Although some editions were cancelled over the years, the 88 edition is expressly announced for 2027. The attractive fairground is close to both the Rhine and the cathedral. Smaller festival areas are also spread across Klipfelsau and the lower Domgarten.

Rides, beer gardens and the pretzel tradition

Previous Brezelfests have featured more than a hundred showmen, food and drink outlets, and stalls. Alongside classic family carousels, fast-paced rides and game stalls are a familiar sight. There is also festival beer, wine, Palatinate specialities and the pretzels the event is named after. However, a complete, final line-up of rides for 2027 has not yet been confirmed. Speyerer Brezelfest 2027: Opening times and admission

The organiser confirms that admission to the public Brezelfest site is free. Rides, games, food and drinks cost extra. The exact daily operating times for the rides for 2027 have not yet been published. Although the fairground opened in the afternoon on the opening Thursday of 2026, this single detail from a previous year is not enough to provide a reliable timetable. We are therefore not showing estimated opening times in the MEC calendar for now.

Opening, parade and spectacular fireworks

The recurring programme includes the official opening with a ceremonial keg tapping on Thursday, the grand parade on Sunday and spectacular fireworks on Tuesday to close the event. The organiser also mentions an extensive music programme and activities on several stages. However, the exact start times and final programme details for July 2027 have not yet been announced. We therefore do not use unverified individual times, performers' names or fireworks details from 2026.

Getting there, parking and information

The Speyer fairground can get very busy, especially at weekends. The city recommends travelling by public transport. Previous editions have had additional evening and night bus services.
