Schaffhausen – Schaffhauser Herbstmesse 2027

The Schaffhauser Herbstmesse 2027 runs from Wednesday, 27 October, to Sunday, 31 October 2027. The exhibition management and Schaffhauserland Tourism have confirmed these dates for the 50 edition. Exhibitors present their offers, products and services at the Breite exhibition grounds. Unlike a traditional funfair, this public exhibition charges admission to its halls. Ticket prices and programme details for 2027 have not yet been finalised.

Schaffhausen Autumn Fair 2027: Fairground and Tradition

The autumn fair is an important meeting place in northern Switzerland and is held at the Breite exhibition centre. Temporary halls and exhibition areas are also set up for the event. The year 2027 marks the 50 edition, so an anniversary programme can be expected, although its content has not yet been confirmed. In October 2026, around 130 exhibitors also took part. However, this figure refers to the previous year and is not a confirmed number of exhibitors for 2027. There were also special exhibitions, food stalls and entertainment at the time.

Rides, offers and entertainment

The exhibition halls also cover a range of topics, including housing, health, leisure, food and drink, and the regional economy. You can discover products and talk to exhibitors. The programme often also includes presentations, tastings and entertainment. However, the specific exhibitors and special exhibitions at the anniversary fair have yet to be announced. You should not assume that there will be individual carousels or roller coasters: Schaffhauser Herbstmesse is a public and trade fair, not a traditional funfair. The title image is accordingly labelled as a symbolic illustration created for this purpose.

Schaffhausen Autumn Fair 2027: Opening hours

Opening hours are provisional, as of 2026. At the time, the exhibition halls were open from 13.30 to 21.30 on Wednesday to Saturday. On Sunday, however, the exhibition closed at 18; it opened at 10.30 that day. These documented time slots are used as a guide in the MEC schedule. However, the organisers may still change the schedule 2027. Restaurants and outdoor areas may also have different opening hours. The schedule provided therefore specifically refers to visits to the exhibition halls, not to all catering facilities.

Admission, costs and visitor information

An admission ticket is therefore required for the exhibition halls. According to the published price list 2026, admission for adults cost 12 Swiss francs. Young people aged 12 to 17, people entitled to IV and AHV benefits, and students paid the reduced price of 10 francs at the time. Children up to the age of eleven could enter free of charge when accompanied by an adult. There was also a family ticket for 24 francs. However, prices for 2027 are not yet known and may change. Access to some outdoor areas should therefore not be confused with free admission to the halls.

Getting there and official sources

The exhibition grounds are located on Breitenaustrasse in 8200 Schaffhausen. You can get there from the railway station on Schaffhausen’s public transport services, for example by getting off at the Schützenhaus stop. Parking nearby is limited. Special offers for travelling by public transport were also available for the 2026 edition; it is not yet known whether this will be the case for 2027.
