Hamburg – Sommerdom 2027

From 23 July to 29 August 2027, Sommerdom 2027 turns Heiligengeistfeld into a large fairground. The dates have already been officially announced by the City of Hamburg. The regular DOM opening hours are also confirmed. However, the specific line-up of rides and special programme for this edition will only be announced later.

Sommerdom 2027: rides and line-up

At Hamburger DOM, you can typically find a mix of thrill and circular rides, roller coasters, family attractions, funhouses and traditional fairground game stalls. The organiser usually lists around 250 to 260 showmen's businesses across the three DOM events. This figure describes the general format of the event and is not a confirmed number of businesses for Sommerdom 2027. A named line-up of rides and specific new attractions have not yet been announced.

Food and drink at Heiligengeistfeld

DOM traditionally offers savoury and sweet fairground specialities, drinks and snack stalls, as well as a range of seating options. The food businesses taking part in summer 2027 have not yet been announced. Prices, special themed offers and the opening hours of individual businesses are also not yet known. Large festival tents, like those at some southern German fairs, are not a feature of Hamburger DOM.

Family day and summer programme

Wednesdays are the regular family day at Hamburger DOM, with reduced prices for all visitors. Which businesses will offer discounts for 2027 has not yet been announced. Sommerdom often features additional activities and themed events. However, DOM Summer Games, Rainbow Day, mascot appearances and other special events have not yet been confirmed for 2027. Fireworks dates have also not yet been officially announced.

History and size of Hamburger DOM

According to the City of Hamburg, the origins of Hamburger DOM date back to the 11 century. Heiligengeistfeld has served as the central fairground since 1893; Sommerdom has been part of Hamburg's fair tradition since 1947. Heiligengeistfeld covers around 20 hectares. The Ministry of Economy, Labour and Innovation organises the Spring, Summer and Winter DOM events and manages use of the site.

Admission and practical visitor information

Entry to the regular DOM grounds is free. You pay for rides, games, food and drinks directly to the respective businesses. Confirmed prices for 2027 have not yet been published. If you want to avoid larger crowds, consider visiting early on a weekday. Follow the safety rules in place at the venue and, if needed, find out about accessible routes, toilets and suitable rides.
