When Frankfurter Straße and Bahnhofstraße turn into a large funfair strip, it's fair time in Halver. The area around the station forecourt and other parts of the town centre become a setting for carousels, stalls and lights. You can also easily combine a visit to the funfair with a stroll around town. As roads are closed for the event, part of the centre temporarily turns into a full-scale fairground.
Halveraner Kirmes is one of the most long-established events in the Märkischer Kreis district. According to the town, its roots go back to 1644. That's why, for many residents, it is more than an ordinary funfair: it's an annual meeting place for the whole town and visitors from the surrounding area.
Rides and special funfair experiences
Halveraner Kirmes traditionally features family rides, high-speed carousels, children's attractions, game stalls and food and drink. Previous editions have also been promoted with spectacular larger rides. However, it is not yet known which showmen and rides the town will approve for 2027. According to the town, applications for the 2027 edition can be submitted until 15 November 2026. For this reason, no attractions from the previous funfair are automatically listed as participants in the new edition.
It's worth allowing time to explore when you visit. Between rides, you could enjoy something savoury or try some typical sweet funfair treats. The evening lights also make the atmosphere particularly impressive. Even if you don't go on any rides, you can take a leisurely stroll along the funfair strip.

Fireworks, ceremonial keg tapping and family day
In recent years, highlights have included the official opening with a ceremonial keg tapping, opening fireworks and family day on Monday. These events were listed in the town's programme for 2026. It has yet to be announced whether they will take place on the same scale in 2027. Therefore, no specific programme times or fireworks have been confirmed for 2027.
Admission and getting to Halver
Based on past practice, admission to the public town-centre funfair is free; rides, games and food are paid for separately. Use Frankfurter Straße 39 in 58553 Halver as a reference point. The town of Halver also lists several free alternative car parks, including Berliner Platz. As many roads are closed during the funfair, public transport is recommended where possible.
