Halen – Carnival funfair 2027

Carnavalskermis Halen 2027 has been officially announced for Saturday, 13 March, and Sunday, 14 March 2027. In the Belgian town of Halen, the funfair is part of the carnival weekend. This is particularly important for your visit: Due to the redevelopment of the town centre, the funfair rides 2027 will be located at Raubrandplein and along Sportlaan instead of their usual site at the Markt.

Carnavalskermis Halen 2027: confirmed funfair days

The city explicitly lists both opening days of the funfair in its events calendar. Unlike many early date announcements, this is therefore not just an estimate based on previous years. Saturday, 13 March, and Sunday, 14 March, are the confirmed funfair days. Individual opening times for the rides have not yet been published, so you will not find an invented timetable here.

The official overview from the City of Halen also explains the reason for the move. The work around the market area affects the funfair site in both 2026 and 2027. An adapted layout plan is to be drawn up for the showmen. The exact distribution of the stalls may therefore still differ from last year's familiar layout.

Carnival parade and other events

Alongside the Carnavalskermis, there is also a dedicated carnival programme. The children's carnival parade takes place on Friday, 12 March 2027. However, this Friday is not among the officially listed funfair opening days. The traditional handover of power is scheduled for Saturday, 13 March; on Sunday, 14 March, the large carnival parade makes its way through the city. The city’s overview does not yet give specific start times for these events. You should therefore check the final route and times before travelling.

Carnavalskermis Halen 2027: Rides and prices

Which rides and stalls 2027 will be at Raubrandplein and Sportlaan has not yet been confirmed by an official line-up of rides. Confirmed individual prices, special offers and detailed opening times are also unavailable. The funfair is part of the carnival celebrations, but taking part in the parade and going on a funfair ride are separate activities. Reliable information about ride prices should therefore only be taken from a current notice from a showman or organiser.

How to find the temporary location

For your journey, head towards Raubrandplein, 3545 Halen, and the neighbouring Sportlaan. The city has named both areas as locations for 2027. Roads may be temporarily closed due to construction work and the carnival parade. Allow a little extra time and check the traffic arrangements. A definitive list of available parking spaces or special shuttle services is not yet available for the 2027 edition.

Tips for your visit to Halen

If you mainly want to enjoy the funfair rides, choose Saturday or Sunday. If you’d also like to see the carnival parade, Sunday is a good choice.
