What to expect
Greven funfair 2027: The Greven funfair takes place from Friday, 27 August to Monday, 30 August 2027. The date follows the town’s annual rule: the last Monday in August, with the three days before it. The traditional Lambertusmarkt rounds off the fair. You can enjoy a varied mix of rides, market stalls and get-togethers in the town centre.
Greven Funfair 2027: Fairground and atmosphere
The festival stretches through Greven town centre. The funfair areas include Wilhelmplatz, Rathausplatz, Niederort and various streets in between. A section of the market square is also used from Saturday. On Monday, Lambertusmarkt occupies the school grounds at Martinischule and streets along Barkenstraße. These are separate market areas, so their opening times are unrelated to the rides’ opening hours. Wilhelmplatz is a good landmark for finding your way around.
Rides and showmen
At edition 2026, around 130 showmen were represented, according to the city. The rides White Wheel, Shock Wave and Fly Over, among others, were presented at the time. These examples relate exclusively to 2026 and are not a confirmed line-up of rides for 2027. Traditionally, children’s carousels, funhouses, bumper cars and game stalls complement the larger attractions. A list by name of the businesses contracted for 2027 is still pending. Therefore, no individual rides have been assigned yet.
Food and family activities
Grevener Kirmes is also a meeting place for families and groups of friends. Alongside fast rides, you can usually find sweet treats, savoury snacks and drinks stalls. The town centre also invites you to enjoy a varied stroll. On Monday, Lambertusmarkt traditionally offers numerous market stalls. You can browse, shop and meet other visitors here even without going on a ride. This brings the two types of market together for a special end to summer.
Greven funfair 2027: Dates and opening hours
The city of Greven publishes fixed daily funfair times for all four days. Friday to Monday are therefore fully listed in the MEC schedule. The Lambertusmarkt takes place separately on Monday, 30 August 2027; its market hours are listed as a separate programme item. The specific festival arrangements, special opening hours and individual stall offers for 2027 may still be adjusted.
Traditions and other highlights
2026 included a Saturday happy hour and fireworks at Emsdeich as part of the supporting programme. An ecumenical service also took place. These individual events have not yet been officially announced again for 2027. Therefore, earlier times are not being treated as new confirmations. The Lambertusmarkt on Monday, by contrast, follows the fixed annual market rule and has been entered with the corresponding date.
