According to the city, this family-friendly traditional funfair is more than 200 years old. Its distinctive feature is the route through the town centre, with gradients of up to twelve per cent. The 1,6-kilometre route creates a street funfair closely connected to Gevelsberg's terrain and townscape. According to the city, almost all food and drink stalls have been run by local clubs for generations.
