Zomerkermis Duisburg 2027: dates and location

The Zomerkermis Duisburg 2027 is scheduled to take place in Duisburg, a district of the Belgian municipality of Tervuren, from Saturday, 1 May to Thursday, 6 May 2027. These dates have not yet been confirmed on the official municipal website for 2027. For reference: 2026 listed only 25 to 27 April for Tervuren's summer funfair. The longer period given for 2027 should therefore be considered provisional. This event has nothing to do with the German city of Duisburg.

Kerkplaats and the village centre

The funfair site is at Kerkplaats in the centre of Duisburg, in the province of Flemish Brabant. The square is near the village church and is a typical meeting place for local residents. You can therefore combine a walk around the funfair with a stroll through Duisburg. Which parts of the square will be allocated to showmen in 2027 depends on the municipal plans. A published site map showing all stall positions for May 2027 is not yet available.

Funfair stalls and rides

Zomerkermis traditionally features mobile entertainment and small market stalls. The mix of children's attractions, games and food can vary each year, depending on the showmen taking part. It is therefore not possible to determine which rides will be there from the funfair's name alone. The specific line-up of rides for 2027 has not yet been officially announced. The municipality also distinguishes between its summer funfair in Duisburg and the winter funfair in November. These two editions are listed separately in the calendar.

Zomerkermis Duisburg 2027: admission and opening times

The public church square is normally accessible without a general admission ticket. You mainly pay for rides, games, food and drinks. No official opening times for rides have yet been published for the edition running from 1 to 6 May 2027. The MEC daily schedule therefore remains empty and the standard times are hidden. In addition, Ascension Day 2027 falls on Thursday, 6 May. The municipality must explicitly confirm whether the funfair will actually operate until the evening on this public holiday.

Visiting with children and public holidays

At a village funfair, it is nice that the attractions are usually concentrated in a manageable area. This makes a day out with children particularly easy. However, ride times and the selection of stalls may vary from day to day. No additional family programme, discounted rides or music events for 2027 have been announced, so they are not listed as confirmed programme items. The dates overlap with 1 May and Ascension Day, which may be useful to know when planning your visit.

Getting there and official information

You can reach the square via the Duisburg Kerk stop on the local bus network. This lets you plan a visit without a car from the Tervuren area.
