Bad Griesbach-Karpfham – Karpfhamer Fest 2027

The Karpfhamer Fest 2027 takes place in Bad Griesbach-Karpfham from Thursday, 26 August to Tuesday, 31 August 2027. The organiser has also officially announced all six festival days. This large Lower Bavarian fair combines a spacious funfair with six festival tents, Bavarian festival culture and the renowned Rottalschau. This agricultural and consumer exhibition begins a day later, on Friday, 27 August. According to the organiser, both events are free to enter.

Karpfhamer Fest 2027: Fair in the Rottal

With its mix of fairground attractions and regional traditions, Karpfhamer Fest holds a special place among Bavarian fairs. The organiser reports that previous editions attracted almost half a million visitors. People from the Rottal, Lower Bavaria and neighbouring regions come together on the spacious grounds. You can explore the site on foot, visit the different themed areas or plan to spend an evening in one of the festival tents.

Rides and the six festival tents

The funfair traditionally features carousels, larger rides, attractions for children and various game stalls. In Karpfham, the six festival tents are called Hütten and together have around 19.000 seats. They serve regional food and drinks, accompanied by festival music. However, a complete, up-to-date list has not yet confirmed which showmen will bring which individual rides in August 2027. For this reason, appearances at previous editions are not presented as a confirmed line-up of rides for the new edition.

Karpfhamer Fest 2027 and Rottalschau

Rottalschau is a separate exhibition section of Karpfhamer Fest. Alongside agricultural machinery, it covers topics such as energy, technology, forestry and everyday life. Numerous exhibitors present products and services in halls and in the open-air area. The famous Rottaler Zehnerzug is also known from the programme of past years. The archive image of this event shows a historical demonstration from 2006 and is not a confirmation of a specific performance in 2027.

Opening times, admission and fireworks

The event dates for the 2027 edition have been confirmed, but not all daily opening times for the funfair have been published. Therefore, no MEC schedule based on guesswork is currently shown. The festival tents have their own opening times; the organiser lists drink service ending at 00:30 and closing at 01:00. These times are not the opening times for the rides. The fair and exhibition are free to enter. Fireworks on Tuesday are also a traditional part of the festival, but a confirmed announcement for 2027 has not yet been made.

Getting there and further visitor information

The festival grounds are in the Karpfham district of the town of Bad Griesbach im Rottal. Parking areas are provided for visitors arriving by car, and the organiser also offers information on travelling by bus and train. Given the large crowds, it is worth planning ahead.
