What to expect
The Bartholomäusmarkt Bad Ems 2027 takes place from Friday, 27 August to Monday, 30 August 2027. The organiser has already announced the four festival days on its official website. In the spa town on the Lahn, you can enjoy a traditional funfair with rides, market stalls, socialising and music in the Gastrodorf at Viktoriaallee. Admission to the festival and music events is free; rides, food and drink, and games cost extra.
Bartholomäusmarkt Bad Ems 2027: four days of fair
The Bartholomäusmarkt is also one of the defining fairs in Bad Ems. Visitors meet at the market stalls, in the funfair area and in the food village. The combination of rides, a sociable atmosphere and entertainment for different age groups is what makes the fair so appealing. The official website highlights its family-friendly programme. As parts of the programme are spread across several areas, it is worth checking the current site plan when it is published later.
Rides, food village and music
Rides, children's carousels and games are all part of the typical fun at the fair. The food village on Viktoriaallee is also a meeting point for culinary specialities and musical entertainment. For 2026, the organiser named several specific performances, but those names and times should not simply be treated as the programme for 2027. The rides shown on the website from previous years are also not confirmation that they will be there for 2027. A complete, year-specific line-up of rides is therefore checked separately.
Bartholomäusmarkt Bad Ems 2027: Opening hours
The organisers' website lists the market hours as 13 to 2 on Fridays, 11 to 2 on Saturdays, 11 to 23 on Sundays and 10 to 21 on Mondays. These regular market hours, published on the official website, are included in the schedule for the 2027 event. Individual rides, food and drink businesses, and music events may have different opening times. A detailed daily programme specifically for 2027 has not yet been published.
Free admission and special market traditions
Admission to the public event is generally free. According to the organiser, visitors can choose to buy a so-called music pin to support the entertainment. However, buying one is not compulsory. Rides, games, food and drinks are also paid for individually. Please note that fireworks are subject to approval: for the 2026 edition, the planned display had to be cancelled because permission was not granted. It has not yet been confirmed whether fireworks are planned for 2027. We are therefore not announcing a display for 2027.
Getting to Bad Ems and up-to-date information
In addition, the food village is located on Viktoriaallee by the Catholic church in Bad Ems. The rest of the fair also takes place across the spa town’s market area. For drivers, the organisers also mention signposted parking at Hasenkümpel sports ground and on Silberau Island, among other places. As signage and access routes may change, you should check the latest information. The official Bartholomäusmarkt website offers news and contact details. Discover more fairs in our funfair calendar.
