Jaarmarktkermis Houthalen 2027: Dates and planning

Jaarmarktkermis Houthalen 2027 is scheduled from Saturday, 1 May to Monday, 3 May. The municipality lists the first Sunday in May as the recurring funfair day. That is 2027 2 May. Under the municipal rule, the fair takes place on the following Monday, namely 3 May. The full three-day funfair period has not yet been explicitly officially confirmed. It therefore remains provisional.

Where is the funfair site?

The event takes place in Houthalen-Centrum and should not be confused with the funfairs in Houthalen-Oost or Lillo. In 2026, the municipality moved the September funfair back to the town centre area around John Cuppensplein. This is therefore our current reference point for getting there. It is not yet clear whether the spring funfair in 2027 will use exactly the same area. The exact location of the market stalls must also be confirmed separately.

Rides and attractions

The funfair and market are connected, but they are not quite the same offering. The funfair is aimed at visitors to the showmen's attractions. The market complements the event with market stalls on Monday. For the May edition, the municipality lists a market on the Monday after funfair Sunday. Specific rides, market traders and special activities for 2027 have not yet been confirmed by name. The corresponding lists therefore remain open.

Admission to the funfair site is listed as free in this entry. This does not mean that rides, food and other offerings are free. Individual attractions may charge a fee. No definitive price list for rides at 2027 has been announced yet. There is also no current information about possible discounts. Daily opening times have not yet been officially announced. We therefore deliberately do not show any invented opening or closing times. Once reliable information is available, the times can be added to the event calendar.

Getting there and parking

For an initial route plan, use the town centre of Houthalen. John Cuppensplein is currently only a guide and not a confirmed layout for May 2027. When visiting, you should check the municipality’s latest road closures and parking information. The fair on Monday in particular may cause additional traffic changes. Exact details have not yet been published.

The municipality of Houthalen-Helchteren holds several funfairs throughout the year. Houthalen-Centrum has one in May and another in September. The May funfair Sunday follows the published rule of the first Sunday in May. There is also a fair on Monday.
