Kaiserslautern – Lautrer Mai-Kerwe 2027

The Lautrer Mai-Kerwe 2027 takes place from Friday, 21 May, to Monday, 31 May 2027. The organiser has already announced the dates for the large fair at Kaiserslautern fairground. Traditionally, you can expect modern rides, children's carousels, game stalls and a wide range of food and drink over eleven days. The May fair is the spring event of the Lautrer fair; the October fair is listed separately.

The city of Kaiserslautern describes the Lautrer fair as the largest fair in the West Palatinate. Showmen, traders and food businesses come together at the fairground. Previous editions featured around 140 businesses offering rides, goods and food. However, this figure is not a confirmed line-up of rides for 2027. Individual rides therefore remain unassigned until a current official list or a specific, verifiable announcement is available.

Rides, Shopping-Gässje and festival catering

The traditional line-up includes larger rides, classic carousels, children's attractions and showmen's games. Shopping-Gässje also invites you to browse its range of market stalls. If you want a break from the rides, you can usually find beer gardens, food stalls and festival catering. In previous years, the offerings included savoury Palatinate specialities as well as confectionery. However, the operators and specific rides coming with their businesses in 2027 have not yet been fully announced.

Lautrer Mai-Kerwe 2027: opening hours

Opening hours are provisional, as of 2026. The city's information for the last May fair gives an opening time of 17 on the first day. On Saturdays, the fair opened at 14, and on Sundays and public holidays at 13. On other days, it opened at 14. These times are grouped according to the specific weekdays of the 2027 edition. Corpus Christi falls on Thursday, 27 May 2027. The final current schedule may still change.

Family day, fireworks and admission

For the May fair 2026, the city opened the fair with a ceremonial keg tapping. There was also a family day with discounted ride prices and fireworks displays at the beginning and end of the event. However, exact dates and times for these activities have not yet been announced for 2027. They are therefore not listed as confirmed programme items. Admission to the public fairground has been free in the past, while rides, games, food and drink cost extra.

Getting to Kaiserslautern fairground

The fairground is in Kaiserslautern and can be reached by public transport from various parts of the city. There are bus stops nearby on Mannheimer Straße. Switching to bus and rail is particularly worthwhile at weekends, as parking spaces are needed for the fair.
