Gießener Herbstmesse 2027: funfair at Ringallee

Gießen Marketing’s official event calendar confirms that the autumn fair runs from the last Saturday in September to the first Sunday in October. For nine days, the fairground on Ringallee becomes a meeting place for visitors from Central Hesse. The fair also offers a mix of fast rides and family-friendly attractions. The autumn event is a separate edition from Gießener Frühjahrsmesse.

Rides, games and delicious specialities

At previous fairs, visitors could enjoy classic round rides, children’s carousels, roller coasters and other attractions. There were also various games, confectionery stalls and food stalls. A varied fair is expected again in September and October 2027. However, the specific line-up of rides will only be confirmed by a current plan for that year. Previous appearances are therefore not presented as already confirmed.

Gießener Herbstmesse 2027: opening times

Opening times are provisional, as of 2026. Last year, the fair opened daily at 14. From Sunday to Thursday it closed at 22, and on Fridays and Saturdays at 23. For now, these times are listed as the weekly schedule in the MEC timetable. German Unity Day falls on Sunday, 3 October, in 2027. No special opening time for this public holiday has yet been published for 2027. So check for possible exceptions before your visit.

Family day and fireworks: what is confirmed?

An opening, a family day with reduced prices and a fireworks display were part of the programme at previous Gießener Herbstmesse events. In 2026, there were also special offers for volunteers and students. However, these past activities do not constitute a binding programme for 2027. Specific dates are therefore not simply carried over from the previous year. Whether general admission to the fairground will apply for 2027 has not yet been confirmed; rides and refreshments cost extra.

The exhibition grounds are on Ringallee in Gießen and can be reached from the city centre. For a relaxed journey, you can take the bus or walk a short distance.
