Kassel – Zissel 2027
What to expect
Zissel Kassel 2027 takes place from Friday, 30 July, to Monday, 2 August 2027. The Zisselverein has officially announced the dates for the traditional fair and water festival. For four days, the Fulda is at the heart of the celebrations. For many years, Zissel has included a Zisselmeile with stalls and entertainment, a land procession and impressive water activities. However, the detailed programme for the 2027 edition will be published later.
Zissel Kassel 2027: fair on the Fulda
Zissel combines a traditional fair with its special setting by the water. The celebration areas stretch along the Fulda and around Auedamm. Many visitors come to stroll along the Zisselmeile, while others are especially interested in the traditional activities on the river. This makes the fair suitable for families as well as visitors who want to experience Kassel from a different perspective.
Water procession, land procession and tradition
The historic character of Zissel includes land and water processions featuring associations, boats and decorated vehicles. The fair also has its own dignitaries and special symbols, which are an established part of tradition for many people in Kassel. In previous editions, the Fulda became a stage for various boating activities and competitions. However, the final start times and routes for 2027 have not yet been published. Therefore, no individual procession is listed as a confirmed event without verification.
Zissel Kassel 2027: fun and the Zisselmeile
The Zisselmeile traditionally features food stalls, drinks, rides and other festival areas. During the event, you can walk along the riverbank and enjoy the atmosphere by the water. It is not yet possible to confirm which showmen and specific rides will be there in summer 2027. Therefore, previous line-ups have not been automatically carried over. The title image is also explicitly an illustrative image, not an original photograph from Kassel.
Opening hours and admission
The confirmed period covers four calendar days. The organiser has not yet announced the exact daily opening times for the Zisselmeile and other event areas for 2027. The MEC schedule therefore does not include potentially incorrect times for now. Admission to the publicly accessible festival areas has generally been free in the past. Rides, food, drinks or individual activities on boats may incur additional costs.
Getting there and further information
Auedamm is on the Fulda and is a central visitor area during Zissel. You can walk towards the river from various bus stops in Kassel. Streets and riverside paths may be temporarily restricted during processions. It is therefore worth checking current bus and train connections in advance. You can find all official news on the Zisselverein website. Discover more funfairs and city festivals via our funfair calendar.
