Steinfurt-Borghorst – Autumn Funfair (Muffenmarkt) 2027

Borghorst Autumn Funfair 2027 – also known as Muffenmarkt – takes place from Saturday, 23 October, to Monday, 25 October 2027, in accordance with the annual date rule set by the City of Steinfurt. The funfair always falls on the weekend around the fourth Sunday in October. This means that you can determine the period for your visit from the official rule, even if a specific programme for 2027 has not yet been published.

Borghorst Autumn Funfair 2027: Muffenmarkt

Muffenmarkt is an autumn event in the Borghorst district of Steinfurt. It is specifically different from the summer funfair, which is also held in the district. The city describes Muffenmarkt as a combination of carousels, shooting stalls, market stalls and socialising in the town centre. This mix of a traditional funfair and market life is what makes the event so appealing. You can browse, discover smaller attractions and then enjoy a snack.

When and where does the autumn funfair take place?

The official Steinfurt website gives the fourth Sunday in October as the fixed annual rule: in 2027, this is 24 October. The funfair begins on the preceding Saturday and ends on the following Monday. The centre is Neuer Markt. For the 2026 event, the organiser also described parts of the town centre as the event area; however, an up-to-date site plan for 2027 is not yet available. The location on the map should therefore be treated as a central reference point.

Rides, market stalls and family activities

Muffenmarkt combines fairground stalls with rides and games. It has not yet been confirmed which operators and individual rides will be coming in October 2027. We therefore do not use potentially outdated line-up lists from the previous year. Special activities or a specific number of stalls can only be mentioned once the organisers confirm them for this event. This keeps the information reliable for families with children too.

Borghorst Autumn Funfair 2027: Official opening times

The City of Steinfurt publishes fixed market times for Saturday, Sunday and Monday for the funfairs in Borghorst. These times are included in our structured opening times overview. They vary by day of the week, so you can choose the right time for your visit. For special opening times or short-notice organisational changes, check the city's information shortly before you travel.

Getting there and further information

Neuer Markt is centrally located in Borghorst. Roads nearby may be closed during the funfair set-up and event, so you should not expect to be able to drive directly to the square. Alternatively, you can travel by public transport to Steinfurt-Borghorst. You can find the latest official information from the City of Steinfurt. Compare other autumn events in our funfair calendar.
