Bockhorn – Bockhorner Markt 2027

Bockhorner Markt 2027: The market is expected to take place from 11 to 13 September 2027. Bockhorn will then become a funfair destination. The date follows the pattern of previous years. So far, the municipality has only announced the 2026 edition in detail. The traditional market combines rides with a parade, trading and social gatherings in the Frisian municipality.

The festival site is located around the market square and Urwaldstraße, in the heart of the Frisian town of Bockhorn. You can easily combine a visit to the market with a trip to local shops. If you are travelling to the event, it is worth checking the municipality’s traffic information. During the market, some streets and other parking areas are partly used for stalls and festival activities. The municipality has not yet published an official site map for 2027.

Rides and traditional market stalls

Bockhorner Markt is more than a funfair. According to the municipality, rides, show attractions and market stalls are all part of it. Children and adults can stroll around the site, discover what the showmen have to offer and enjoy the lively market atmosphere. The individual rides that will be there for 2027 have not yet been announced. A line-up from previous years would therefore not be reliable evidence of what to expect at the next edition.

Bockhorner Markt 2027: parade and tradition

The market was first mentioned in 1310. Traditionally, it begins with a large parade of walking and vehicle groups accompanied by music. On Sunday morning, a flea market in the neighbouring Urwaldstraße is part of the familiar programme. These elements shape the character of the fair. Specific start times and whether the individual programme items 2027 will take place have not yet been confirmed separately.

Family day, fireworks and food

In 2026, family day began on Monday at 14. There was also an afternoon for older people in the festival tent. The municipality announced a fireworks display high in the sky at 21 as the finale. It is not yet clear whether these times and programme items will apply again in September 2027. You will usually also find food and drink around the stalls at this traditional market.

Opening hours and admission

Full official opening hours for the funfair at 2027 have not yet been published. For this reason, we are deliberately not showing seemingly precise daily times at present. Admission to the public market site was free at the previous edition. Rides, food and drink are paid for separately; additional events may have separate conditions.

Getting to Bockhorn

Urwaldstraße in 26345 Bockhorn is a suitable destination. Allow extra time for getting around in case nearby streets are closed due to the market set-up or parade. Before your visit, it is especially important to check local information about bus services and parking. Do not confuse Bockhorn with the Bockhorner Oldtimermarkt in June: this is the fair held in September.
