Winterberg Funfair 2027: The Winterberg Funfair is expected to take place in the town centre from Friday, 13 August to Monday, 16 August 2027. The town names the third weekend in August as the fixed annual date and traditionally celebrates for four days. The specific dates for the 2027 edition have not yet been officially announced. The period has therefore been calculated from the official schedule.

Winterberg Funfair 2027: Fairground and location

The funfair site is in the Am Rad area in Winterberg town centre. The market stalls also extend into Schulstraße. Historical roots and modern rides define this special fair in the Hochsauerland region. The town promotes it as the highest funfair in North Rhine-Westphalia. You can therefore combine a stroll around the funfair with a walk through Winterberg town centre. Other programme areas, particularly the animal show, are outside the actual funfair site.

Rides and market stalls

For the 2026 edition, the town published a specific list of rides, including Break Dancer, Twister, Rocket, Sound Wave and bumper cars. There were also children's attractions and other stalls. These names refer specifically to 2026. A new, confirmed line-up of rides for 2027 is not yet available. So no ride from the previous year is automatically listed as a current participant. Alongside carousels, traditional shooting galleries and skill games are part of the funfair.

Food and family activities

The funfair areas traditionally offer bratwurst, fish sandwiches, burgers, langos and sweet treats. Numerous traders also sell goods at the market stalls. In 2026, the town mentioned a market area measuring 434 frontage metres. This figure does not automatically apply to the following year. The mix of rides, market stalls and food and drink is particularly varied for families. A visit without going on a carousel is also worthwhile.

Winterberg Funfair 2027: Dates and opening times

The funfair is scheduled to run from Friday, 13 August to Monday, 16 August 2027. The official opening times from the previous year have been provisionally transferred to the corresponding weekdays. Accordingly, the funfair opens at 16 on Friday, 14 on Saturday and 13 on Sunday. The previous year's official schedule gives a start time of 9:30 on Monday. Traditions and programme

In Winterberg, the animal show on funfair Monday is part of the traditional programme. In 2026, it took place at the riding club by Postteich. The town also announced a ceremonial keg tapping with the mayor, a happy hour and market stalls at the time. A fireworks display was also planned for Winterberg Funfair 2026, but was cancelled according to the town's website. A fireworks display for 2027 will therefore not be listed as a confirmed programme item without separate confirmation.

Admission, travel and parking

Use Am Rad, 59955 Winterberg as your navigation destination. In 2026, the town recommended the car parks at Neue Mitte, the railway station and Oversum. The funfair site is within walking distance from there. Winterberg railway station makes travelling by public transport easier. Check the updated traffic arrangements and any special buses for 2027, as some streets in the event area may be closed.
