What to expect

The Kölner Herbstvolksfest 2027 is expected to take place at Deutzer Werft from Sunday, 24 October to Monday, 1 November 2027. The Deutzer funfair combines rides with views of the Rhine and Cologne's Old Town. The date is listed in a funfair calendar but has not yet been confirmed by the organiser; opening hours are based on the 2026 edition.

Kölner Herbstvolksfest 2027: dates and location on the Rhine

The well-known fairground is at Deutzer Werft, between Deutzer Bridge and Severins Bridge. Its location right on the banks of the Rhine is a distinctive feature of the event. You can also see Cologne city centre from there, and reach the funfair on foot from Deutz. The official Deutzer funfair website currently documents only the 2026 edition.

Rides and family activities

The Deutzer funfair traditionally offers a mix of rides, game stalls and food and drink. In 2026, the organiser provided a site map showing the areas for rides, food stalls and services. However, which individual showmen 2027 will be setting up is not yet known. A line-up of rides from previous years would not be a reliable list for the next edition. So if you are planning your visit around a particular attraction, it is worth checking the latest site map shortly before the funfair opens.

Kölner Herbstvolksfest 2027: opening hours and prices

Opening hours are summarised in a daily schedule by day of the week. The funfair usually opens at 12:00. On Fridays and Saturdays, it is scheduled to stay open until 22:00, and until 21:30 on other regular days. For All Saints' Day on Monday, 1 November, the previous year's pattern suggests different hours of 18:00 to 21:30. The rides usually close 30 minutes before the event ends. Prices for rides at the next edition have not yet been announced either.

Services, food and drink, and getting around

The event site is right on the Rhine and has space to stroll between the attractions. For example, the official site map for the 2026 edition showed food areas, toilets and a baby-changing room, among other facilities. The new site map for 2027 has yet to be published. So plan your visit flexibly and check the current locations of entrances and service areas. Special event days and fireworks have also not yet been confirmed for the new edition.

Getting to Köln-Deutz

Public transport is particularly convenient because the site is right on the riverbank. Köln Messe/Deutz station is served by S-Bahn, regional and long-distance trains. You can also use Stadtbahn stops such as Deutzer Freiheit or Suevenstraße. If you are travelling by car, nearby car parks are an alternative; restrictions may apply immediately around the site during the event. However, specific road closures for 2027 have not yet been announced. Find more dates in the funfair calendar.
