At Top Drive by Halle, you steer your own car across the track. Unlike a circular ride, there is no set course: you decide whether to find a clear path, change direction or engage in a playful duel with other cars. That is the appeal of bumper cars, as no two rides are rarely the same. According to industry information, the cars are made by Bertazzon and are known as Oslo. They belong to this specific von Halle ride, not to any other bumper car ride with a similar name.
Even off the track, the bumper cars are part of fairground life. From the outside, you can watch the different driving styles and enjoy the lighting. After dark, the illuminated track becomes a visible focal point of the fairground. When riding, it is less about spectacular heights and more about steering, quick reactions and interacting with the other riders.

The bumper car ride is operated by Kevin von Halle from Großefehn. Ride-Index lists it as “AS von Halle 2” and names Theo von Halle & Söhne as a former operator. This is important for identifying the ride: the showman family has or has had other bumper cars, including another ride called “Nitro the Race”. The name Top Drive alone is therefore not enough to identify historical photos or technical details as belonging to a particular ride.
The ride regularly appears at fairs in northern Germany. For example, the showmen’s trade press reported 2023 on a guest appearance at the Sander Markt, where Top Drive stepped in at short notice for another bumper car ride.
