Insider by Zanolla is a Swiss spinning ride with an unusual sequence of movements. It belongs to the travelling fleet of the Zanolla showmen's family from Lucerne. The riders don't just spin in circles: the movement of the gondolas and cross-arms creates a lively change of viewpoint. That makes Insider an exciting choice for anyone who likes classic spinning rides with a distinctive technical design.

Highlights & records

Open cross-shaped spinning ride with Breakdance-style movement; 32 seats per ride cycle according to the specialist database.

Insider combines an open, cross-shaped structure with an unusual spinning sensation – a classic in the Zanolla fleet.

Insider by Zanolla: what to expect on the ride

The Insider combines the principle of a Breakdance-style spinning ride with a distinctive cross-shaped layout. As the platform moves, riders continually change position in relation to their surroundings. This makes the ride varied. You can watch the movement clearly from the outside, as the entire structure is open.

Unlike a roller coaster, there is no track that you ride along just once. Instead, the experience comes from repeated changes of direction and different spinning movements. You are also right next to the music and the funfair activity. This makes Insider a visually striking attraction among the other rides at a Chilbi.

Structure and special features

The operator gives the Insider’s footprint as 18,5 by 18,5 metres and its height as 10 metres. Its power requirement is 80 kilowatts. A ride database lists 32 seats per ride cycle. These details show that behind its compact appearance is a full-sized, transportable structure.

The cross-shaped design is what makes Insider look different from many other round rides. The moving elements remain visible to those waiting. This means you can see how intense the ride will be before you get on. The open design also conveys the dynamism of the entire ride experience.

The history of Zanolla's Insider

The ride was made by the Italian manufacturer Top Fun. A specialist database documents its previous operation with John Corbiere in Switzerland from 1990. Since 2003, the ride has been travelling with Zanolla. Its long operating history has made Insider an established part of Switzerland’s Chilbi offering.

The operator family is closely connected to the Swiss showman tradition. The company’s history dates back to 1923. From a simple fairground business, it grew into an operation that today offers, among other things, two bumper cars, the mobile Niagara slide and the Insider. The fourth generation is now in charge. The Insider is therefore part of a whole family of travelling attractions, rather than a stand-alone business.

Who is the Insider suitable for?

If you like Breakdance variants and fast-paced round rides, the Insider is worth a look. Its unusual geometry is interesting for both riders and spectators. For families with younger children, however, the access guidance in place at the venue is what matters.

You can find more travelling rides in our overview of rides. For current bookings and technical information, the website of the operating family is the best place to start. There, Zanolla presents Insider alongside its other rides.
