Willy der Wurm – Spindler & Söhne
Children's roller coaster from Switzerland, with Spindler since 2026
Operator: Spindler & Söhne (Deutschland) · since 2026
Willy der Wurm Spindler is a travelling roller coaster for children and families run by the Spindler & Söhne showmen family. The ride came from Switzerland to Germany in 2026. It is sometimes simply called “Der Wurm” in line-up lists. It is important to distinguish it clearly: Spindler’s ride is not the “Willy der Wurm” roller coaster by Ingo Bauermeister, which also travels around Germany.

A family-friendly worm roller coaster with a history in Switzerland – explicitly not the ride operated by Bauermeister.
Why the distinction from Bauermeister matters
Ingo Bauermeister also operates a worm roller coaster. His ride has been travelling around Germany under the name Willy der Wurm since 2016. The two rides can therefore look very similar in line-up lists, but they are different physical roller coasters. Photos, videos and fairground appearances should always be checked to confirm which operator is meant. An older photo of the Bauermeister ride must not be used as an image of the Spindler ride.
Willy der Wurm Spindler: First roller coaster rides
A worm roller coaster is aimed mainly at younger visitors and families. The trains are typically designed in the shape of a long caterpillar or worm. You ride around a compact track with bends and small changes in elevation. The appeal lies less in extreme acceleration and more in experiencing the sensation of a roller coaster for the first time. Parents can watch how the train runs and how children react to the movements before getting on.
For families, this kind of ride is often a good introduction to the world of roller coasters. However, the operator sets the actual speed, number of laps and rules on accompanying children. Without reliable technical documents for the Spindler ride, no fixed figures from other worm roller coasters are used.

Technical details and practical visitor tips
It is confirmed that the Spindler ride is a children's roller coaster. The manufacturer, year built, track length, height, number of trains and seats, and minimum height cannot be established with certainty from the sources checked here. These fields are therefore left blank. If you are visiting with younger children, check the height and accompanying-child rules before buying a ticket. Also make sure that children follow the staff's instructions during the ride. Watching the complete ride cycle before getting on can help you decide.
