Maldegem-Kleit – Winterkermis 2026
What to expect
Winterkermis Kleit 2026 is the traditional funfair weekend in the district of Kleit, in the Belgian municipality of Maldegem. Around Sunday, 15 November, the car park at the Mariagrot on Halledreef is part of the funfair. The official festival committee lists accompanying events from Friday, 13, to Sunday, 15 November. However, the municipality has not published confirmed daily opening hours for the rides.
Winterkermis Kleit 2026: the meeting point at the Mariagrot
The municipality of Maldegem sets the date according to a fixed rule: the winter funfair takes place on the weekend of the first Sunday after 11 November. In 2026, that is Sunday, 15 November. It specifically names the car park at the Mariagrot on Halledreef as the funfair location. This makes it easy to pinpoint. The car park is also clearly distinct from the other event venues. The official information has not yet published a complete line-up of rides, stalls and showmen actually setting up for 2026.
The programme for Winterkermis Kleit 2026
The funfair weekend also includes an accompanying programme organised by local associations. On Friday, 13 November, the parents' council of VBS De Kleiheuvel invites you to a Fluo-Fuif from 15:30 to 23:00; an after-work get-together starts at 18:00. According to the festival committee, entry for children to this separate event costs five euros, including a drink, crisps and entertainment; adults get in free. These are not prices for the funfair rides.
A mountain bike tour organised by the Bezembikers takes place on Saturday, 14 November. Registration is possible from 08:00 to 14:00 at De Berken sports hall on Kleitkalseide 109; routes of 15, 30 and 48 kilometres are offered. The prize-giving for a cycling treasure hunt follows there at 20:00. These events do not take place at the funfair car park.
Sunday with a second-hand fair
On Sunday, 15 November, the festival committee is organising a fair for second-hand baby items, toys and books at De Berken sports hall from 14:00 to 18:00. A bar serving drinks and fresh pancakes is also planned. According to the organisers, it is no longer possible to register for a sales stall. You can combine a visit to the fair with your funfair visit, but make sure you distinguish between the two venues.
Opening times, admission and travel
The funfair is located in the car park at the Mariagrot, Halledreef, 9990 Kleit. The map marker here is intended to help you find the Mariagrot grounds. However, exact daily ride opening hours, ride prices and a confirmed general admission price for the 2026 edition are not available. For this reason, opening times from other years are not used. Check the festival committee's latest updates, especially if you are travelling specifically for the rides.
What happens after the funfair weekend
After the funfair weekend, the festival committee has announced an afternoon for residents aged 65 and over at 14:00 on Monday, 16 November, at the FC Kleit football canteen. This is a standalone event after the funfair weekend covered here, not a confirmed extension of ride operations. You can find more fairs in the Kirmestermine calendar; the official programme from the Kleit festival committee has the latest information about the accompanying events.
