Goldau – Goldauer Chilbi 2027

The Goldauer Chilbi 2027 is expected to take place from Friday, 3 September, to Sunday, 5 September 2027 at Schulhausplatz Sonnegg. The date follows the three-day pattern of previous editions around the turn of August and September. The organisers have not yet explicitly confirmed the new annual edition. Traditionally, you can expect a village funfair with rides, food stalls run by local clubs, market stalls and musical entertainment.

Goldauer Chilbi 2027: festival site and traditions

The Goldauer Chilbi association organises the fair in the Goldau district of the municipality of Arth. The site is Schulhausplatz Sonnegg, Schulhausplatz 1. Numerous clubs from the municipality take part, running food stalls and contributing to the supporting programme. These include, for example, music and traditional costume groups from Goldau and the surrounding area. The 2026 edition ran from 4 to 6 September, and previous editions have also run from Friday to Sunday. That makes the weekend of 3 to 5 September 2027 a plausible continuation of the pattern, but it is not yet an official date confirmation.

Rides, food and entertainment

The traditional fairground includes funfair rides, various games, and market and food stalls. The organiser describes the involvement of local clubs as an important part of the event. They offer food, drinks and welcoming places to meet. Musicians and other groups also use a stage for performances. The 2026 edition, for example, had its own music programme; its bands will not automatically perform again in 2027. The specific rides have not yet been confirmed either. We therefore do not link any showmen without current evidence of their participation.

Goldauer Chilbi 2027: opening times

Opening times are provisional, as of 2026. According to the organiser's programme at the time, the restaurant and rides opened on Friday at 17 and closed at 2 at night. On Saturday, the festivities ran from 13 until 2 as well. Sunday ran from 10.30 to 21. These three complete time slots are provisionally listed in the MEC timetable. As the 2027 edition does not yet have its own programme, the times may be adjusted later. Individual stalls and rides may also open for less time than the overall event.

Admission and festival programme

Goldauer Chilbi combines family entertainment with regional club life. On the Sunday of the 2026 edition, a church service was held in the so-called Putschibahn. This was followed by a get-together with drinks and musical performances. These traditional programme items may return in future, but have not yet been specifically confirmed for 2027. That is why the new annual calendar does not list a set church service or stage programme. The public school grounds are normally free to enter. Rides, goods, food and drinks cost extra.

Getting there and further information

Goldau is easy to reach by train to Arth-Goldau station. Sonnegg school grounds are nearby and can be reached on foot from there. Regional buses and the Rigi Railway also serve the area. Parking spaces around the school grounds may be unavailable during the festival, so travelling by public transport is recommended.
