Sarnen – Chilbi Sarnen 2027

The Chilbi Sarnen 2027 is expected to take place from 10 to 12 September 2027 at the Schulhausareal in Sarnen. This period corresponds to the traditional second weekend in September and is listed in an event overview. The local Chilbi organising committee has not yet expressly confirmed the new edition. Chilbi Sarnen 2027: festival site and traditions

Sarner Dorfchilbi is a long-standing meeting place in Obwalden. In 2023, its site was moved from the Parkplatz in der Ey to the Schulhausareal in the village centre. Brünigstrasse 162 is listed as the event address. Scouts and other local groups have helped organise the festival in previous years. The focus is more on community than on a huge funfair. The usual mid-September schedule supports the reported date for 2027, but does not replace official annual confirmation.

Rides, offers and entertainment

The 2025 edition featured a children's carousel, a Chilbi ride and games organised by Pfadi Sarnä. An evening with a lucky wheel and musical accompaniment was also part of the programme. The village funfair is therefore particularly suited to families and anyone who prefers a smaller event. However, the specific rides and operators taking part in 2027 are not yet known. Chilbi Sarnen 2027: opening hours

Opening hours have not yet been fully published. At Sarner Dorfchilbi 2025, Friday evening began at 19, the Saturday programme started at 13.30, and the family funfair on Sunday began at 13. These are individual programme start times, not continuous opening hours with confirmed closing times. The structured MEC schedule is therefore deliberately left blank. Admission, costs and visitor information

As well as games, the village funfair features sociable festival catering. Previous editions have offered music and various club activities. However, these individual programme items vary from year to year. Specific music groups, a tombola or special activities for September 2027 are therefore not yet confirmed. The publicly accessible school grounds can normally be entered without a general admission ticket. Separate charges may apply for games, carousel rides, food and drink. No new pricing or entry rules for 2027 have been announced yet.

Getting there and official sources

The Schulhausareal is at Brünigstrasse 162 in 6060 Sarnen. Sarnen railway station is connected to the Zentralbahn network. You can therefore easily travel from the direction of Lucerne without a car, then walk the rest of the way to the festival site. Parking at the school may be restricted during the event.
