Merligen – Dorfmärit & Chilbi 2027

The Dorfmärit & Chilbi Merligen 2027 is expected to take place on Saturday, 11 September 2027. This traditional village event is held every year on the second Saturday in September. The exact date 2027 has not yet been confirmed by the organisers. Visitors meet at the school grounds and in the village for the market, festival catering and a varied family programme. The Merligen music society organises the event, which can be combined with a trip to Lake Thun.

Dorfmärit & Chilbi Merligen 2027: A village celebrates

Merligen lies on the north-eastern shore of Lake Thun and is part of the municipality of Sigriswil in the canton of Bern. Every year, the music society organises a village market followed by a funfair. The school grounds are the centre of the festivities. Market stalls also turn parts of the village into a small shopping and meeting area. The previous year's event was announced for 12 September 2026. Saturday, 11 September 2027, is therefore a plausible date based on the same annual pattern, but it has not yet been officially confirmed.

Market stalls, funfair and activities for children

The village market is best known for its variety of stalls. You can usually find regional products, small gift ideas and other market goods. The funfair on the school grounds adds games and family-friendly entertainment. For the 2026 edition, for example, a bouncy castle and other activities for children were announced. It has not yet been confirmed which showmen and attractions 2027 will actually be there. We therefore do not list any rides from the previous year as confirmed participants. Opening hours are provisional, as of 2026. At that time, the village market ran from 9 to 17. The accompanying funfair and festivities were announced to run from 9 until 2 the following morning. The longer funfair hours are therefore shown in the structured schedule; market stall hours may differ. However, no separate opening hours have yet been announced for 11 September 2027. Festival catering and music on Lake Thun

Festival catering is one of the special features of this village event. Previous editions have featured dishes such as whitefish fillets and Chäsbrätel, as well as homemade cakes. There was also music, welcoming meeting places and a bar. This combination of regional food and entertainment makes the market more than an ordinary goods market. However, the music programme for 2027 has not yet been announced. We therefore do not list any music groups or performance times from the previous year as confirmed.

Admission and travel to Merligen

According to the latest published event information, admission to the public village funfair is generally free. Food, drinks and, where applicable, individual games cost extra. The school grounds are in the centre of 3658 Merligen. You can reach the village by regional bus services around Lake Thun; roads leading to the village may be congested during the event.
