The Knabenschiessen Zürich 2027 takes place at Albisgütli from Saturday, 11 September to Monday, 13 September 2027. Zürich Tourism and the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund have already listed this date. Alongside the traditional shooting competition for young people, there is a huge funfair with rides, game stalls and food stands. The fair is open to all visitors; you pay separately for rides and food.

Knabenschiessen Zürich 2027: fair at Albisgütli

Knabenschiessen is one of the largest fairs in Zürich and its marksmen's tradition dates back to 1656. The event has also been held in its current form since 1899. It takes place at Albisgütli, at the foot of Üetliberg. The shooting competition is for young people from the canton of Zürich, while the fair is open to all visitors. The rows of stalls attract many people, especially at weekends. However, the shooting range and the fairground have different schedules and opening times, which you should not confuse.

Fair with rides and market stalls

The large market usually features roller coasters, circular rides, children's carousels and numerous game stalls. Market traders also sell confectionery, snacks, everyday goods and other products. You can enjoy Knabenschiessen as a funfair outing even without taking part in the competition. The Zürcher Verkehrsverbund also describes the Ferris wheel and thrilling attractions as typical highlights. Which individual rides will actually be there for 2027 has not yet been confirmed. Knabenschiessen Zürich 2027: opening times

Fair opening times are provisional, as of 2026. At that time, the fair was open on Saturday from 10 to 1.30 at night, on Sunday from 11 to 0.30 and on Monday from 11 to 23. These opening times are listed separately by day in the structured schedule. The shooting competitions, on the other hand, sometimes start earlier and have their own time slots. The general tourist event overview for 2027, already published, gives longer overall hours in some cases, so the specific ride operating times 2027 still need to be confirmed.

Shooting competition and festival tradition

The sporting competition is for the title of marksmen's queen or marksmen's king. Young people may take part in accordance with the organiser's rules; fairgoers do not have to shoot themselves. In previous years, music, special ceremonies and a Monday programme were part of the festival. The exact times for the competition and awards for 2027 have not yet been fully confirmed. Therefore, no programme items from the previous year are being carried over as a firm commitment. For many visitors, the festive atmosphere at Albisgütli is already a special experience.

Admission and getting to Knabenschiessen

The fairground on Uetlibergstrasse, near Albisgütli, is open to everyone. Rides, games, food and drinks incur separate charges. Public transport is particularly convenient, with services to the Albisgütli stop and other nearby stops. There are usually no visitor parking spaces directly at the fairground.
