What to expect

The Hull Fair 2027 is expected to take place from Friday, 8 October, to Saturday, 16 October 2027 at the fairground on Walton Street in Kingston upon Hull. The dates follow the established scheduling pattern and are not yet an official announcement for the 2027 edition. Over eight days of operation, you can expect one of Europe’s largest travelling fairs. Sunday, 10 October, traditionally remains closed; admission to the site is free.

Hull Fair 2027: huge fair on Walton Street

Hull Fair is one of Europe's largest travelling fairs. It usually covers around 16 acres on Walton Street. The site is near West Park and the MKM Stadium. It also combines its modern fairground with a history dating back to medieval market rights. For many centuries, this autumn event has been an important meeting place in Kingston upon Hull. You can stroll through numerous market lanes, admire the illuminated rides and experience a typical English fairground atmosphere.

Rides, children's carousels and specialities

In 2026, the city of Hull reported more than 300 attractions and stalls, including numerous rides for children. These included classic carousels, fast rides, funhouses, games of chance and food stalls. However, this figure is not a confirmed line-up of rides for 2027. We therefore do not list any individual attractions as confirmed participants yet. Traditional specialities include sweet Brandy Snap, fairground treats and savoury street food. Alongside the fast rides, you can usually also find gentler family rides and games.

Hull Fair 2027: opening times and Sunday closure

Opening times are provisional, as of 2026. At the last event, the fair opened at 16 on the opening Friday. It opened from 12 on the first Saturday. The fair is closed on Sunday; in 2027, this falls on Sunday, 10 October. From Monday to Friday, trading begins at 14, following the most recently published official schedule. The second Saturday starts at midday again. In 2026, the fair closed at 23 each day. Hull City Council still needs to confirm the specific times for 2027.

Opening ceremony and long-standing fair tradition

The Lord Mayor of Hull traditionally opens the fair on Friday by symbolically ringing a bell. This has long been part of the fair's identity. However, the exact time of this ceremony on Friday, 8 October 2027, has not yet been announced separately. We therefore do not list a fixed programme item without up-to-date evidence. The archived images are from Hull Fair 2023 and do not show rides guaranteed to attend the 2027 edition. New rides and exhibitors will only be announced with an update for that year.

Admission, travel and park and ride

General admission to Hull Fair is free. You pay separately for each ride, games, food and drinks. The fair is near MKM Stadium and is also accessible from the city centre by bus. In 2026, the city offered park-and-ride services at locations including Priory Park and Humber Bridge. Additional buses also ran. As Walton Street will be closed for set-up and operation, you should check the latest traffic information in 2027. You can find all the latest information on the city’s official Hull Fair page.
