What to expect

The Celler Schützenfest 2027 takes place from Friday, 16 July to Tuesday, 20 July 2027. The Grand Council of the five United Celle Marksmen's Societies has announced the dates for this marksmen's festival and fair. For five days, the fairground on Hafenstraße hosts rides, marksmen's traditions, music and food and drink. Entry to the public fairground is free; individual attractions and food cost extra.

Celler Schützenfest 2027 on Hafenstraße

Since 1928, the five United Celle Marksmen's Societies have jointly held the marksmen's festival and fair at the Schützenplatz. The Grand Council organises the annual festival programme. Marksmen's traditions, a lively fair and the social life of this former royal residence come together here. The site is on Hafenstraße, near the Aller and the city centre. You can combine your visit with a walk. The detailed festival programme for 2027 is still being prepared.

Rides and fairground fun

The fair traditionally offers carousels and rides for children, young people and adults. There are also classic game stalls, food stands and places to eat and drink. For example, the 2026 edition featured several children's attractions, large circular rides and a festival tent. It has not yet been confirmed by a current line-up of rides which of these will return for 2027. For this reason, names from previous years are not listed as confirmed participants in the new edition. The title image is also explicitly an illustrative image, not a photo of a specific edition.

Celler Schützenfest 2027: Opening times

Opening times are provisional, as of 2026. According to the latest published tourist event listing, the public festival grounds generally opened daily from 14 and the listing gave a closing time of 22. The structured timetable uses this as an initial guide only; festival tents and special events may have different hours. A fully up-to-date daily schedule for the 2027 edition is not yet available. Before travelling, check the latest information from the Grand Council.

Marksmen's traditions, parades and family day

The programme traditionally includes the election and proclamation of the marksmen's royalty, musical parades and a torchlight procession. In recent years, there have also been family days, special discounts and fireworks. At the Schützenfest 2026, for example, special evening discounts were offered on Sunday and a family day was held on Monday. It has not yet been confirmed whether these events will take place on the same days of the week in 2027. For this reason, no 2026 times have been carried over to the new event date. The individual programmes can be added once the official schedule is published.

Free entry, parking and getting there

There is no general admission charge to visit Celle's Schützenplatz. You pay the businesses for rides, games, drinks and food. If you come by car, expect parking areas around Hafenstraße to be closed during the festival. Alternatively, there are multi-storey car parks in the city centre; you can also walk or take public transport from the station to the festival area. The official Celler Schützenfest website provides up-to-date information. Find more marksmen's festivals in our calendar.
