Passau – Passauer Maidult 2027
What to expect
The Passauer Maidult 2027 is expected to take place from Friday, 30 April to Sunday, 9 May 2027. The dates have already been listed in several event calendars for the upcoming edition; the City of Passau has not yet officially confirmed them. At Messepark Kohlbruck, you can traditionally expect rides, game stalls, festival tents and a wide range of food and drink. The Maidult marks the start of the spring fair season in Passau.
Passauer Maidult 2027 at Messepark Kohlbruck
The Passauer Dulten are among the best-known fairs in Lower Bavaria. Unlike in the historic city centre, they are now held at the exhibition and fairground in Kohlbruck. There is room for the amusement park, numerous food and drink stalls, and several festival tent areas. The event also attracts visitors from the city of three rivers and the surrounding area. You can combine thrilling rides with a Bavarian festival atmosphere on a funfair stroll.
Rides, festival tents and refreshments
For example, the typical line-up includes classic circular rides, family attractions, activities for children and showmen’s games. The festival tents and the large Dultstadl are also important meeting places. Although the city of Passau has described many individual rides for 2026, this is not a confirmation for 2027. For this reason, old line-up lists are not treated as a current list of participants. The Ferris wheel photo used is also explicitly identified as an archive photo from 2011.
Passauer Maidult 2027: Opening hours and admission
Opening hours are provisional as of 2026. The municipal Dult regulations specify operating hours for the opening day, Sundays and public holidays, and the final day of the fair. These basic time slots are set out in the structured opening-hours schedule; the city may set different hours for the 2027 edition. The Dult site is open to the public and, according to past practice, admission is free. Individual charges apply for rides, food and drink.
Traditional costume parade and traditional activities
Another special highlight of Maidult is the large traditional costume and marksmen's parade through Passau's old town on the first Sunday of the fair. The city describes it as the second-largest parade of its kind in Bavaria. Based on the provisional start of the fair, this Sunday falls on 2 May 2027. The exact schedule and start time have not yet been officially published. Children's afternoons and fireworks are also part of the traditional programme; however, the dates for 2027 are still to be announced.
Getting there and official information
Messepark Kohlbruck is also southwest of Passau city centre and can be reached via Dr.-Emil-Brichta-Straße. Special buses ran for previous fairs; in the evenings, certain journeys from the fairground to the central bus station were free. So you should check the final special timetable and any possible road closures before setting off. You can find the latest information from the City of Passau or on the official fair website.
