Linz – Urfahraner Herbstmarkt 2027

Urfahraner Herbstmarkt 2027 runs from Saturday, 2 October, to Sunday, 10 October 2027 at the Urfahraner Marktgelände in Linz. This traditional fair on the left bank of the Danube combines a large amusement park with a goods market, food and drink, and the “Linzer Herbst” trade exhibition over nine days. There is something for families with children, fans of thrilling rides and those who enjoy a leisurely stroll around a fair.

Urfahraner Herbstmarkt 2027: Why these dates?

The autumn market follows an official rule set by the city of Linz. If the last Saturday in September falls on the 24 or 25., the market starts the following Saturday and ends on the second Sunday in October. That is the case in 2027. The organisers' website for the “Linzer Herbst” trade exhibition also confirms the dates 2 to 10 October 2027. The festival takes place right by the Danube in the Urfahr district of Linz, at Urfahrmarkt 1. The market site is easy to reach from the city centre on the opposite bank.

Amusement park and attractions

Previous editions featured classics such as the Ferris wheel, bumper cars, children's carousels and various fast rides. The market also offered games and smaller family attractions. A mix of traditional stalls and changing new attractions is part of the festival's character. However, it has not yet been fully confirmed which showmen will set up their rides for 2027. We therefore do not list any rides from 2026 as confirmed attractions for the next edition. Fans should check back later for the published line-up of rides.

Festival tents, food and the Linzer Herbst

The fair is also known for its food and drink. Visitors can traditionally find Austrian specialities, sweet treats, snack stalls and welcoming places to eat and drink. The “Linzer Herbst” trade exhibition also brings together exhibitors in home furnishings, household goods, construction, health and lifestyle. So there is plenty to discover beyond the amusement park. However, the exhibition halls, food and drink areas, and children's attractions may not all have the same opening hours. Check the information for each area when planning your visit.

Urfahraner Herbstmarkt 2027: Opening hours and admission

The official opening hours for the 2027 edition have not yet been published in full. We therefore use the official weekly schedule of the amusement park from the previous edition in our timetable: Opening hours provisional, as of 2026. It is grouped by the actual days of the week 2027 and distinguishes between the first and last weekends and weekdays. According to the published tourism information, admission to Urfahraner Herbstmarkt was free. Rides, games and food cost extra. Some festival tent offerings may also have their own conditions.

Programme and special traditions

Past autumn markets have included a family day with reduced ride prices, live music, festival tent events and fireworks. These activities are popular, but are not automatically confirmed for 2027. No specific dates or times for them are therefore listed in the programme yet. Once the city of Linz or ARGE Urfahranermarkt publishes the programme, confirmed highlights can be added. This keeps tradition and the current programme clearly distinguished.

Getting there and practical visitor tips

The site is at Urfahrmarkt 1, 4040 Linz, right on the left bank of the Danube. You can get there by tram and bus with LINZ AG LINIEN. In previous years, extra tram services ran on busy days. It is not yet clear whether these will be offered again in 2027. If you are travelling by car, allow time to find parking and walk to the site, as visitor numbers can be high.
