Brugge – Meifoor 2027
What to expect
Meifoor Brugge 2027: three weeks of funfair in the city centre
When the Meifoor begins in Bruges, part of the historic city centre becomes a lively funfair. Rides, game stalls and the scent of freshly baked waffles are all part of this traditional spring festival. According to the city’s published annual rule, the Meifoor Brugge 2027 runs from Friday, 16 April to Sunday, 9 May 2027. This means you can plan a funfair visit as early as April—not just for the Ascension weekend.
Where is Meifoor Brugge 2027?
The traditional central meeting point is ’t Zand in Bruges. In the 2026 edition, additional rides were located at Concertgebouw. Koning Albert I-park and Simon Stevinplein were also part of the event. The squares are within walking distance of one another. The city has not yet announced whether all areas will be used again in 2027. For now, ’t Zand serves as a reference point.
Rides and funfair atmosphere
Meifoor Brugge 2027 has a long funfair tradition. For 2026, the city reported more than 85 attractions and stalls. At the time, these ranged from bumper cars, Polyp and fast spinning rides to children's carousels, games and food stalls. The showmen taking part in 2027 have not yet been officially confirmed. For this reason, you will not find a purportedly confirmed line-up of rides here. A historical photo in the gallery shows an earlier Meifoor, not the line-up for 2027.
Programme and special days
In previous years, there were activities for families, discounts and a festive opening. These offers are not automatically part of the 2027 edition. Also note Ascension Day on Thursday, 6 May 2027. The Procession of the Holy Blood traditionally takes place in Bruges then. It may temporarily affect funfair operations. Specific closure or pause times for 2027 have not yet been confirmed.
Getting to Brugge
From Brugge station, you can walk to Koning Albert I-park and ’t Zand; De Lijn city buses also serve the area. For those travelling by car, the organiser lists parking at the station and beneath ’t Zand. Traffic routes may change around the funfair. Allow a little extra time if you are visiting at the weekend.
What is confirmed for 2027 so far?
The dates follow the city’s official annual rule in the funfair calendar. A separate 2027 site plan, a confirmed list of attractions, individual activities and current ride prices are not yet available. The times in the event overview are therefore based on the operating hours published by the organiser for 2026. You can find more dates in the funfair calendar. Before your visit, check the latest information from the City of Brugge and the official Meifoor website.
