Read moreInception brings a familiar name back to fairgrounds in a new form: the former Escape – Flight of Fear is set to tour again 2027 under Thomas Weber and Kevin Tröger. The 2022 ride, built by Mondial, is getting a new name and an updated presentation.
For funfair fans, the change is especially exciting because Escape had only been appearing at German fairs for a few years. After its seasons under Köhrmann, a new chapter is now beginning. Inception marks a fresh start for 2027, with a different operator and a new look.
If you already know Escape, you can look forward in particular to the new presentation. The finished design and the details that will change from the previous look have not yet been fully revealed.

Inception is based on the existing Mondial ride, which made its debut as Escape – Flight of Fear at Düsseldorf Rheinkirmes in 2022. The ride already stood out for its distinctive design at the time. Freundeskreis Kirmes und Freizeitparks presented Escape with the FKF Award in the funfair category for the 2022 new-ride season.
Inception is therefore one of the changes to the 2027 funfair season, although the ride’s year of construction remains 2022. The new elements are the name, the management and the announced presentation. Its return does not mean it is a brand-new ride.
A confirmed debut venue and a complete tour schedule have not yet been published according to the sources checked here. Specific locations therefore cannot be given at present. Claims about changed gondolas, new ride programmes or technical modifications would also be premature without further confirmation.
You can find the information currently available about the ride in the Inception ride profile. For planning your visit, the confirmed dates and the operator’s on-site information will be important later.
