What to expect

The Frühjahrsplärrer 2027 takes place from 28 March to 11 April at the Plärrergelände. For two weeks, the fair combines rides and games with festival food and drink and Augsburg’s Plärrer tradition. Here you’ll find all the information confirmed so far, along with clear notes on the details that are still missing for 2027.

Frühjahrsplärrer 2027: Date and times

The city of Augsburg confirms the period from Sunday, 28 March, to Sunday, 11 April 2027. The general Plärrer opening hours set by the city and the organiser are listed in the daily schedule; special opening hours for 2027 may differ. Individual special opening hours will be added once announced.

The city's website currently lists general opening times and a special opening day, but the specific dates and programme details given there still refer to the Herbstplärrer 2026. The regular opening times provide a basis for planning; special programme days from 2026 are not carried over. The independently arranged opening times of the festival tents have also not yet been confirmed.

Spring Plärrer 2027: Plärrer fairground and scale

The venue is the Plärrergelände at Kleinen Exerzierplatz in 86153 Augsburg. The City of Augsburg and its market office are responsible for the event. The city says that the Plärrer, which takes place twice a year, attracts around 85 showmen and publicans, as well as more than half a million visitors. These figures describe the festival’s established overall character, but are not a commitment regarding the line-up of rides for 2027.

The site is north of the city centre and can be reached by tram, bicycle and car. During the fair, the area itself is needed for regular park-and-ride traffic and is not available as a regular car park.

Rides and line-up

The Plärrer traditionally features large rides and family-friendly rides, attractions for children, walk-through and show attractions, as well as game, lottery and shooting stalls. The city has not yet announced which rides will actually be set up at the Frühjahrsplärrer 2027.

The selection of businesses takes place through an application and allocation process. You should therefore not automatically expect rides from previous editions. New rides, returning rides, specific locations on the grounds and ride prices have also not yet been confirmed. An overview map for 2027 is not yet available either.

Festival tents and food

Festival tents and other food and drink outlets complement the showmen's area. Typical offerings include hearty fair food, sweet classics, drinks and snacks. The specific tent line-up, festival hosts, breweries, menus, reservation options and music programmes for Frühjahrsplärrer 2027 have not yet been published.

Beer, drink and food prices have not yet been announced either. As soon as the city or the respective festival tent operators open reservations, you should use only the official contact channels. The festival tents’ opening hours may differ from the general opening hours of the fairground.

From Dult fair to the Augsburg Plärrer

According to the City of Augsburg, the Plärrer has roots dating back more than 1.000 years. Originally, the attractions were part of various Dult fairs in the city centre. In the 19th century, the noisy attractions and the so-called “clamour” around shooting galleries and swing boats were separated from the market stalls.

Augsburg first held a fair at the Kleiner Exerzierplatz in 1878. The site still defines the Plärrer today. The fair now takes place twice a year: as the spring Plärrer around Easter and the autumn Plärrer in late summer.

Supporting programme, family days and fireworks

Previous Plärrer events have included a ceremonial keg tapping, family days, a showmen's church service, a parade and fireworks. The detailed programme for the spring Plärrer 2027 has not yet been published. Only the general opening hours are taken into account; programme items from the 2026 edition are not listed as confirmed events 2027.

Possible family days, fireworks, opening activities, offers for older people and special programme items for people with disabilities must also be confirmed for 2027. Once the official programme is published, you should check the relevant conditions and times directly there.

You can also find more fairs in the funfair calendar. Further information: Official organiser's website.
